چکیده
Aim: The study was to examine rapid maxillary expansion (RME), semi-rapid (SRME), and slow (SME) compare the root resorptions occurring in supporting upper first premolar teeth during treatment by using micro-computed tomography (micro-CT). Methodology: Thirty individuals that required tooth extraction were divided into three groups consisting of 10 for RME, SRME, SME. RME group, molar with hyrax screw activated ¼ tour twice daily banded appliances. SRME acrylic-bonded appliances per morning night until opening suture. Upon suture, it every two days sufficient gained. SEM quad helix 20 days. After 12 weeks retention period, extracted. scanned Micro-CT (SkyScan 1172, Kontich, Belgium), images analyzed a Dell Precision T5500 determine resorption crater volumes. Results: In all samples, craters concentrated on buccal surfaces roots. highest volume, total observed followed least volume detected SME group. Conclusion: Since exposed more force surfaces, most seen How cite this article: Topal R, Gündüz Arslan S. Effect different resorption. Effects of maxillary expansion and placebo effect of appliances on nocturnal enuresis – preliminary results
INTRODUCTION Nocturnal enuresis has been found a common symptom among children with breathing problems and sleep apnea. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the therapeutic and placebo effects of slow maxillary expansion on nocturnal enuresis. MATERIAL AND METHODS Four children with enuresis aged 7-12 years were selected. Rigid acrylic expansion appliances were fabricated and delivered t...

OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of apical root resorption in maxillary incisors during the initial stages of active orthodontic treatment and to test the hypothesis that root resorption increases with the progress of the treatment. METHODS The study sample consisted of 80 teeth of 20 patients (14 female, 6 male) with a mean age of 14.9±2.8 years. Root resorpti...

15 صفحه اولThe effect of photobiomodulation on root resorption during orthodontic treatment
Photobiomodulation is used to accelerate tooth movement during orthodontic treatments. The changes in root morphology in a group of orthodontic patients who received photobiomodulation were evaluated using the cone beam computed tomography technique. The device used is called OrthoPulse, which produces low levels of light with a near infrared wavelength of 850 nm and an intensity of 60 mW/cm(2)...
